Super Jack

"Sometimes being a brother is better than being a superhero".
~Marc Brown~

It's a bird......

It's a plane.....

It's Super Jack!

Today, my heart was beaming as I watched Jack be a 'superhero' for Owen.

We were at the library this morning. Jack was tearing around as usual playing with all the trucks and Owen was right by my side perfecting his walk (yes, he's walking!) while discovering a new toy with each step. Another little boy, about 2.5 years old, was following us around and every time Owen would pick up a toy, this little boy would grab it from him, taking it away. His mom tried to get him to stop, but he kept doing it. After awhile, I was reading to Jack and Owen was playing near us with some dinosaurs. The little boy came back again and took one of the dinosaurs away from Owen. Jack saw this and found another toy for him to play with. Ahhh...and again (with his mom watching and disciplining from afar..."hello, not working") the boy tried to take it away. But, just as he tried, Jack put his hand out and looked right at the boy, and yelled "Stop, this is Owen's dinosaur...leave him alone". And he did just that, he left Owen alone!

I have often wondered when a moment like this would happen. When Owen came into the world it was pretty rough for Jack. His world was turned upside down. But overtime, his love for his little brother has grown and grown. Today, showed me that maybe it has fully blossomed!

It also reminded me of one of my favorite books that we read to Jack.
