Jack and Kindergarten.

I thought this day would never come. Okay, I knew it would come, but not this soon. It seemed as though I was thinking about it and talking about it forever and then BAM!...Jack became a Kindergartner. He's now three days in and absolutely loving every minute of it.

We talked a lot about Jack starting school over the weekend while we were with family. This made my emotions start brewing in my chest and my throat would get tight with sadness...pure sadness. I just knew that come his first day, I would be a weeping mess as I was kissing him goodbye and sending him off into the big, real world.

To my surprise this was not the case on Tuesday morning. Addy was awake almost every hour the night prior, so I woke up later than I had planned. It was then a busy, mad dash to get us all ready, get pictures of Jack and get him to and walk him into school. I just didn't even have time to be a weeping mess that morning. Sad, yes I was very sad, but no tears. And Jack was all, I'm good Mommy...you don't need to hold my hand Mommy...get going Mommy.

Jack's highlight of Kindergarten thus far...recess. Such a boy.

The night before...

Twas the night before Kindergarten
and as they prepared,
kids were excited,
and a little bit scared.
 (taken from this book)

Jack is totally prepared and excited for his big first day of Kindergarten. He tells me that he is not the least bit scared or nervous. We packed up his backpack with some last minute items, we layed out a new outfit complete with basketball shorts (with a scrunchie top-his fav) and we snuggled in bed, talking about what the first day with be like. I kissed Jack goodnight and told him even though I will miss him terribly, I will be okay because he is beyond ready for Kindergarten and he is going to have a blast. Me on the other hand...it might take me a few days to adjust and get the emotional lump in my throat to disapear. Ugh..where did these last 5 years go?

Well, I am now off to make his lunch complete with one of these.

Labor Day Weekend.

We spent the weekend at my in-laws cabin in Northern Wisconsin. We had three beautiful days, which was a great way to end our summer. My camera is on the fritz and desperately needs to be serviced, so here are a few camera pics.

Jack kayaked for the very first time and it was a major hit for him. He fell in the love with that little yellow kayak and he spent most of his weekend paddling away in it on the lake. He deems this experience as his favorite part of the weekend. Watching him was mine.

Owen tubed behind the boat several times, but it always had to be at very slow speed. So Owen accomplished two things, tubing and surfing. He was pretty proud of himself and so were we.

Adelyn spent most of her time being loved up on by her cousins, aunt and grandma. And chilaxin by the water.

Adelyn: 3 Months

Well folks, Miss Adelyn is now 3 months old! Where has the summer gone? I recently asked my friend this and she responded with, "you have a baby".  Ahh yes, that is where my summer went. I have been playing with Addy (and feeding and feeding and feeding her) and her big brothers and watching them grow.

Adelyn 3 month-old stats:

-She coos and "talks" a lot
-She can roll from her belly to her side.
-She can grab objects to play with them.
-She literally catnaps all.day.long. Not fun.
-She is starting to laugh especially when raspberries are blown on her skin and air is blown through her hair. So Fun!
-She is not a huge fan of her car seat, but if her belly is filled to the brim with milk she tolerates it.
-She already gets a kick out of Jack and Owen who are quite often right up in her face loving on her.
-She is a better sleeper than her brothers ever were, however sometimes she only wakes once, but last night I lost count after six.
-She knows her name and our voices.
-She is growing lots of yummy chub rolls on her arms and legs.
-She is incredibly loved by the four of us.

Summer Lovin'

Summer lovin' had me a blast.
Summer lovin' happened so fast.

I had a few minutes to reflect on our summer thus far and these lyrics flooded my brain.

Can time just stand still pleeeaaassse (that was in my most nasely, child-like voice..a la my children in the Target toy aisle) so our summer fun can last a little longer?  Oh how I wish the answer could be yes.

This is why I have been absent from my blog over the past couple of weeks. I have chosen to play a little longer outside or take another walk or go for a night swim or go eat ice cream with my kiddos instead of blog. I have also chosen to chat with Pat while swinging on our front porch swing with drink in hand or watch a new show together instead of blog. I try to blog after these things, but with Addy still waking up a couple times a night, I am exhausted. No matter how good of a multitasker I think I am, something always has to give (my house, this blog, my sanity). I have actually fallen asleep a few times recently while trying to write a blog. I have woken up a few hours later laying in bed with my computer on my lap and fingers on the keyboard. Sheesh!
So for now, I am lovin' up on my munchkins, Pat and these beautiful summer days/nights.

Be back soon....

Fun with Chalk.

This week I have been on a major kick to try out one of my 3000 pins and/or other pins I have oogled over everyday. Now I'm not even sure if I actually pinned something related to chalk art and photography, but I have see this a bazillion times on good ole' web (including Pinterest). It always makes me smile when I see it and I always think to myself, "Oh, such a good/cute/awesome/creative idea and I must give that a try". Today as the kiddos and I were playing outside, I found a brand, spank'n new box of chalk, perfect for giving this a whirl. The kiddos were into except Owen had a hard time laying still and laying still in the right position long enough for me to snap a good picture (hence, why he is not in these).

chalk + art + kidlets = I like!

They're Mine.

When my boys are together, they may act like little puppies. Running, chasing, rolling, playing, jumping, wrestling, fighting etc.

But, they're my little puppies.

and I love them.
